Forrester surveyed 17 vendors of globally deployed banking platforms on their 2009 deals. Considering participants of both the 2008 and 2009 surveys, deal volume shrunk by 18% from 2008 to 2009. Oracle and Temenos remain the Global Power Sellers. They defended their 2009 territories against the smallest group of Global Challengers ever. The bottom line? Most banking platform vendors lost traction in 2009 on new deals, and banking platform vendor consolidation continued. Application delivery teams need to scrutinize the changing vendor landscape carefully to make the best use of flexible solutions and more global functionality than in the past.
