Research Focus

Robert is a vice president of portfolio and strategy for Forrester's Business Technology (BT) division. He is responsible for managing the portfolio of research products and services for all of the BT roles Forrester serves. He works closely with IT executives to outline Forrester’s long-term BT research, consulting, and peer council strategy. In this role he is responsible for the development and enhancement of new and existing products.

Previous Work Experience

Prior to his current role, Robert held several research director positions. Most recently he was research director for the Infrastructure & Operations role. He managed a team of analysts responsible for delivering research and advisory solutions for clients' server, desktop, storage, network, and IT service management challenges. This included coordinating the team's solutions for larger infrastructure initiatives such as data center transformation, organizational redesign, cloud computing, client virtualization, green IT, and IT service automation. Prior to that he was the research director for Forrester's Security & Risk role. He led Forrester's research efforts on IT security frameworks; governance, risk, and compliance (GRC); identity and access management (IAM); application security; data security; and IT infrastructure security. Robert was also an analyst for five years, helping clients make decisions on specific network architecture, infrastructure, operations, and security investments.

Robert has been widely quoted in the press, including business media outlets such as the Wall Street Journal and industry media outlets such as Network World. Robert regularly speaks at Forrester events, on behalf of clients, and at industry events such as Interop.
